Taste The Best of Barolo in the Crypt On Monday 28th April
A stunning Barolo from 60 year old vines grown in Piedmont’s highest vineyards will be the star of our April Magnum Club dinner when Giuseppe Vajra a scion of the cult Piedmont producer GD Vajra introduces us to six of his family’s highly rated wines.
Called Barolo Bricco del Viole , the vineyard of the violets, the 2020 Vintage was born of one of best of the vintages this century . It will be just one of the wines we shall taste that were aptly described by Hugh Johnston as the king of wines and the wines of kings.
The Vajra wines will be accompanied by a five course dinner, created by our executive Chef Andy Barber .
The evening starts at 6.30 pm in our magical medieval Crypt in Ely with aperitifs in the Cloister garden, weather permitting. All wines, the five course menu plus water, coffee and petit fours costs just £155 per head.
