19th May Marqués de Murrieta Magnum Dinner
Rioja and Albariño from one of Spain’s most venerable wine dynasties, Marqués de Murrieta, founded in 1852, are the chosen wines for our May Magnum Dinner in our magical medieval Crypt on Monday, 19th May.
We are delighted to have one of our favourite and most erudite Masters of Wine, Mark Bingley, to take us through six superb wines.
The highlight of the evening will undoubtedly be the 2011 Ygay Gran Reserva Especial, though the younger magnums and double magnums of the 2016 Reserva will come pretty close. White wine lovers will be delighted with the crisp 2021 Albariño Pazo Barrantes from Galicia, of which the American magazine Wine and Spirits was unstinting in its praise, calling it the best Albariño in the world.
The evening begins at 6.30pm with aperitifs in the Crypt’s Cloister Garden, weather permitting. £149.50 includes all six wines, dinner, water, coffee and service.
